Lovebirds Embroidery

This is one of my newest creations for the Gallery (When I finally get my booth!). I really think I'm getting the hang of embroidery now...for a while I thought that cross stitch was easier/faster than "drawing" with thread like this, but I was quite wrong! This piece did take some time to put together, however it was fun enough that it felt like it went by quickly!

This piece is inspired by nautical tattoos and is completely finished (with a layer of felt and fabric over the stitching) in the back and ready to hang. I think it would look nice in someone's living room or bedroom.

PS- I'm going to Disney Land tomorrow, so I probably won't be posting for a day or two! YAY!

Calavera Embroidery

I love skulls, there's no denying it. We all have one, and I was raised knowing about Dia De Los Muertos early on in my childhood. I love Calaveras, and this is my first attempt at making on using embroidery. I think it turned out fairly well. I like the idea of using a skull with wings, I was inspired by the "Bubble" enemies in the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. I plan on making more of these, since I like them so much.

Here's a detail shot of the embroidery:

New Painting

I've been working a LOT lately on new artwork.
This small painting is one of my newest pieces. Among other things, I am trying to expand my portfolio. I've felt in a digital rut lately working on so many digital pieces. I just needed to get my hands covered in ink and paint. Many of my new paintings are inspired by love and nautical tattoos.

Another reason I am painting and sewing like crazy is that I am trying to secure a boot at the "Handmade Galleries" in Sherman Oaks, California... It's a gallery that has all "hand made" artwork. I think my stuff would fit in nicely.

Keep checking back for more artwork! I am working like crazy.
