Food

I'm not going to lie. I really like food, especially fruits and vegetables. I like to eat them, I like to grow them, I like to look at them...and I love to DRAW them.
This drawing is one of my new favorite, favorites! It features some of my favorite fruits, vegetables, and a couple veggie products (ie: vinegar and olive oil), I have also included honey.
Each veggie was drawn by hand and colored using pens and markers.

I am thinking of turning this into a postcard, or something. Wallpaper? Gift wrap?! Well...we'll see. The possibilities are endless. I think this drawing could be a good tool for teaching kids about all kinds of different veggies!

The Love of Buttons

I've had my button machine for about two years now, and it's one of my favorite artistic tools. Buttons are so much fun to make, and I am especially fond of these NEW buttons I've created. They feature some of my favorite fruits and veggies (and herbs too). All the buttons are created from original drawings colored by hand.

You can pick up your own online at my Etsy Shop, or in the Handmade Galleries in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Postcrossing

I've been a member of "Postcrossing" for just about a year now. I love it.

For those of you who aren't familiar with what it is, Postcrossing is a pen-pal system for people all around the world. All communication is through post cards... it's fun, pretty affordable, AND you get postcards from people all around the world! It's also nice because when you send a card to someone, you get another card from somebody else!

Anyway, here are some of the postcards I've gotten from around the world. Not all the cards are from other Postcrossers, some are from my personal collection. This is a great spot in my "office" to stare at when I'm looking for inspiration.

The funny part is that this isn't even ALL of my postcards! :-)

Tomorrow is my little sister's birthday. It really makes me feel old, since it doesn't seem like too long ago she was 5 years old! (now she's 20!) Time really does fly!

I feel badly that I won't be home to see her for her B-day. Come to think of it, I think the rest of my family will be out of town on her birthday too. Well, this unicorn drawing is for her! It's one of my fave pen and ink drawings right now. This particular drawing was colored using photoshop.

Love

It's almost Valentine's Day.... Who do you love?

Sketches: Dragon

I'm not sure if this is a Chinese or Japanese dragon... All I know is that he's not a Celtic dragon! I drew this little guy the other day at work, and then finished him up while watching a movie with the BF. I like him pretty well... maybe I'll spruce him up and use him in something else? Thoughts?

I think his feet are my favorite part.

You've Been Approved

"Pink Toe Press Seal of Approval"

This is one of the new "Seals" I am working on for some of my products with Pink Toe Press. How cute would it be if I had this as a quality control stamp on all of my artwork and products? Oh my!

Sketches: Calaveras

I just realized it's been a while since I posted some sketches. These are a work in progress for another project I am working on. It's in the planning process, so I have a lot of doodling going on. I've tried out a variety of skull sizes, shapes, and patterns, and these are some of my favorites.

Oh yeah. There's a dolphin in the mix too! I had just finished watching "The Big Blue" with my boyfriend, and I just had to draw a dolphin.
